REPORT FOR ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Wider Church Report 2004

Our monthly Beyond the Parish projects continued as our main focus for the support of the missionary work of the church. These included missionary societies, overseas aid and development agencies and our Diocesan Anglicare. Special emphasis continued on our BCA link parishes of Coober Pedy and Port Hedland.

It was wonderful to have a visit from Rod and Christene Oldfield, our link missionaries from Coober Pedy. They joined us for our 10am service on 27 October and then for morning tea in the hall afterwards. During morning tea Rod shared with us some of their experiences ministering in their parish – the largest in South Australia.

Thanks to all parishioners who have supported our programs, enabling us achieve these results. We look forward to your continued support through 2004. Thanks again to Anne Carpenter for her faithful ministry as BCA Box Secretary. Thank you also to Betty Hoad who retired part way though the year from her role as Missions Secretary after many years of service.

Used Stamps – Betty is continuing this ministry, and this year’s supply was given to the Bible Society. For parishioners not already doing so, or giving to some other worthy cause, we invite you to save your used stamps and place them in the Mission Box under the back pew on the left hand side of the church as you enter. The sale of stamps adds to mission funds.

The planned Parish Mission Projects for the coming year (2005) are:

January AngliCORD Tsunami Appeal
February Leprosy Mission
March / April Anglican Board of Mission
May / June Anglicare Canberra and Goulburn Appeal
July Bible Society
August Church Missionary Society
September / October Bush Church Aid
November / December Christmas Bowl (NCCA)
