FOODSACK MINISTRY
This
vital part of All Saints outreach into the local community is well patronised by
those who are struggling to make ends meet.
The Parish Office oversees this vital area of ministry and
assistance is available only during office hours:
9.30 am –
3.30 pm
Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays)
Please
note the following important points:
Emergency food assistance is only available from the office.
There is no one available to distribute food outside office hours.
You will need to have some current identification with name and address, including the number of people in your household.
Assistance is only available once a fortnight.
Assistance is only available three times during the year.
You can make an appointment to meet with a member of the clergy to discuss more detailed assistance. The office staff are not able to give any other assistance than the emergency food.

There is no money kept on the premises.
During the past year we have given out 165 single parcels and 111 family parcels as well as 9 bread parcels, 2 bread and milk parcel, and 6 pharmacy vouchers. Parishioners have donated 1,462 items at a value of $1,549.59, as well as $269 cash. The cost to the parish for the purchase of food items was $1,414.16 and for medicines $68.45.
Single
foodsacks contain: 750g box wheat biscuits or similar cereal; 1 litre UHT milk;
425g tins of baked beans, spaghetti and three bean mix; small jar of peanut
butter or vegemite; small tins of tuna and sardines; 5 pack of 2 minute noodles;
and two loaves of bread. (Cost $8.98)
Family foodsacks contain: 1kg bag of rolled oats or 750g box wheat biscuits; 2 1litre UHT milk; jar of peanut butter or vegemite; 850g tin of fruit; packet soup; 2 425g tins of soup; 2 500g bags of pasta; 1 jar of pasta sauce; 1kg bag of rice; and four loaves of bread. (Cost $11.05)
Thank
you to all parishioners for your support of this ministry with the donation of
food items each week or with cash donations in their weekly offerings marked for
“Outreach”. Thanks also go to Hawker Village Bakery who donate bread each
week and to the parishioners who collect and deliver it to the Parish Office.
