Igitur Nos
Igitur Nos is
a chamber choir made up of wonderful singers from many walks of
life.
We enjoy singing the best works from the sacred choral tradition. Our
repertoire extends from Gregorian chant, Tallis, Victoria, Palestrina,
Lassus, Monteverdi, Bach, Vivaldi, Haydn, Mozart, and all the way to
Brahms, Parry, Stanford, Faure, Britten, and Howells, to name just a few.
A highlight in 2005 was a
candlelit concert presentation of the Ceremony of Carols by Benjamin Britten on Christmas
eve with local harpist. We also perform regularly with period
instruments.
Like to sing with us?
We currently have 18 members. We
welcome singers with competent sight singing
skills. Rehearsals are held at All Saints, Ainslie, on Monday evenings,
7-9pm.
We also have occasional weekend
tours and
retreats.
Like us to sing for you?
We welcome invitations to sing for
weddings, funerals and special occasions as well as concerts and
fundraising events. The choir has sung at many venues in Canberra, and
further afield in Sydney and the Riverina.
