THE PARISH OF ALL SAINTS’, AINSLIE
C Y C L E O F P R A Y E R 2005
ABOUT THIS CYCLE OF PRAYER
Dioceses are arranged in order by the Bishop's Conference; we pray for them in turn, with the rest of the Australian Church.
FOR REGULAR PRAYER
· The Bishops, Diocesan Staff and Bishop-in-Council
· Clergy and lay people in new positions of responsibility
· Parish Councils and ministry teams
· People at all stages of discernment and preparation for lay or ordained ministry
· The development of fresh expressions of ministry throughout the Diocese
· Continuing exploration of new models of ministry in the Diocese
· Growth of the Diocesan Foundation and Anglican Development Fund
· Ecumenical cooperation, especially the Australian Centre for Christianity and Culture
· Grace and strength for all who hold public office, and a spirit of service, commitment to justice, and an honouring of truth in public office
FOR SPECIAL PRAYER IN 2008
· For Australia as urban and rural communities together confront the realities of climate change, and particularly the higher temperatures which threaten land and sea.
· For the rural and urban communities of the Diocese, for the clergy and lay leadership, that they might be catalysts for hope and sources of comfort and strength. Pray to that the Diocese might be a strong advocate for environmental responsibility.
· For the Diocese in a time of transition; for Bishop George and Margaret as they begin new ministries in Australia and in England; for Bishop Allan as Administrator; and the ministry of the lay and ordained leaders of the Diocese; for the discernment process for a new Bishop and the Episcopal Election in September.
· For our developing relationship with our Companion Diocese - the Diocese of Ysabel in the Solomon Islands and for mutual visits during 2008
· For the building of closer ties between the operational arms of the Diocese: particularly Anglicare, schools, St Mark's National Theological Centre, the Registry, and the Anglican Development Fund.
· For the world-wide Anglican Communion at a time of division and challenge, and for the 2008 Lambeth Conference, to be held in England in July and August, that it might be a meeting between bishops marked by mutual respect and God's grace.
